THE VISION
Bridging The Gap is a long time vision of a law enforcement officer who used to spend countless hours tracking down resources for sexually exploited victims. There were many organizations who had resources and services, but there was no way to effectively and efficiently communicate with them in real time during crisis situations, such as in the evening hours or weekends, when victims are often rescued.
The BTGHT mobile app was created in 2021 to fill this gap by communicating victim needs, in real time, to organizations that have the resources to help.
Our Mission
Expand the BTGHT mobile app to every region in the U.S. to help sexually exploited survivors and other vulnerable populations.
BTGHT Mobile App has been launched in collaboration with coalitions/organizations in the following locations:
NW Oregon, Arizona, North Texas (Ft. Worth/Dallas), New England, Kansas City Metro.
We are very excited for the opportunity to work with leaders who have the experience and skillset to help us expand the mobile app nationwide. We anticipate huge mobile app growth in 2024. If you would like to partner with us to help accomplish this important mission, please contact us.
AWARENESS/TRAINING
Bridging The Gap believes awareness and training is key to helping communities learn about sex trafficking and how to respond with a trauma informed approach.
In partnership with the Mentor Support Collaborative, we have filmed several trauma informed trainings, featuring professionals who work in the field along with survivor leaders. This training is available FREE on Google Classroom. Click on the link below to watch any of the 14 sessions:
In September 2023, we premiered the screening of a new documentary “Human Trafficking: Portland, OR” in collaboration with Director Mark Devendorf and his students at Clackamas Community College. This March, a local church also hosted a showing of the documentary.
If your church, organization, or law enforcement agency would like training or to learn how to get involved in anti-trafficking efforts or interested in hosting a screening of the film, please click on the flyer below or contact us.
